In this earlier post, I talked about my sweet niece's 7th birthday party. Her present from us this year was a day full of fun as outlined by her. (Serge and I were supposed to take her out together, but instead he got to spend the day at jury duty. I bet you can guess which one of us had more fun!)
I had such a blast listening to all her jokes and stories and doing the things that she wanted to do. This is a new tradition, that I know Emma will look forward to each year, but not as much as I will. I hope she never outgrows wanting to spend the day with her aunt!
We started out the day seeing "Kitt Kittredge: An American Girl" at the movie theater. We got to watch a girly movie, eat popcorn and meet the Chik-fil-a cow. It was a great beginning to our day! Then this sweet girl wanted to go to Olive Garden for lunch where she ordered, wait for it......salad! This girl loves some salad, and breadsticks! :)
Next, we headed over to PetSmart, to look at some fish and a possible puppy for Uncle Serge. Sadly, there are no animals in the store for adoption unless it's a weekend.
Now, if you don't know this smart and adorable little girl, then you don't know what a reader she is. At lunch I mentioned taking her somewhere fun (meaning the park) and she got all excited and asked "Is it Barnes and Noble??!!!?". I laughed and told her it wasn't, but that I thought we could make a pit-stop there. To Emma, reading is one of the most fun things in the world, and who wouldn't want to encourage that? She was so excited walking in and found a few books that Aunt Carrie just couldn't let her leave the store without.
After leaving Barnes and Noble, I glanced back at her at the red light, and had to take this picture.
Then, we headed over to the park for a few minutes. It was so hot and a school bus full of kids showed up shortly after us.
Next we stopped at a grocery store for some cold drinks and I let her get some treats from the bulk candy section at the front of the store. We got a bag for Oren, too, because we didn't want him to feel left out.
After this we were both exhausted and happy, so we headed for home. What a fun and special day with a precious little girl!!
One last photo to leave you with.....Emma greeting Uncle Serge when he got home from his "day of fun".

Thanks for a fun day!
